In esoteric circles, Valentinus is considered as one of the great mystics and thinkers of early Christian history — even if his Gnostic ideas would later brand him a heretic by the nascent orthodox church. Yet his theologies are gradually being embraced today in the halls of mainstream churches, even by some of the most rigid Catholic orders. We welcome the return of Valentinus, from his transcendent philosophy to his meditative rituals, more needed than ever in a civilization losing hope for meaning and a higher purpose.
