It’s a special episode covering Hermes Trismegistus and Hermeticism. From the history to the theology to the impact on western culture, we leave no Philosopher’s Stone when it comes to this Pagan Gnostic tradition. Our exploration includes several bonuses, including Hermetic spiritual techniques and the hidden places Hermeticism exists today few have noticed.

Thank you for a great show. I have just finished reading Gary’s book on Hermes the Thrice Great so it was good to also hear the other guests. I agree with Gary though that the ideas of Hermeticism are earlier. There must be a reason why the ancient Greek philosophers went there to seek the Egyptian ‘gnosis’. Just because there are not extant written sources does not necessarily mean that they did not exist much earlier – perhaps in the oral tradition. Also, as Zosimos said the Egyptians were very reluctant or even forbidden to speak of their ‘knowledge’.
Again, as always, a very learned discussion and great questions on your part.
Glad you enjoyed and agreed, my friend!
